Our Story
Tradecals was born from a conversation between mates on the job.
Having an appreciation for graphic designs, and a first-hand knowledge of what being a tradie is all about, we realised something was missing in the space. Something that would allow tradies to express pride in their trade in a unique and visual way. We figure being a tradie isn't just a job, it's a lifestyle. It’s a sign of capability and strength. But outside the job-site, there was nothing that really represented that. Nothing that let us flex what we do, to those in other trades, and the world at large.
In short, we wanted something that just didn’t exist - so we decided to build it ourselves.
Made By Tradies, For Tradies
To those of us who have ever had to wake up at 4am in the morning to pour an epic slab. Or those who have ever had to wait around in the mud well past home time to finish putting in those last few downpipes. To all the unsung heroes of physical labour who have broken their backs building homes, schools, skyscrapers and bridges. Tradecals is for you.
Why we exist
Every day, tradies build the places we live, work and spend our time. But for the most part, the people behind the work stay in the background. The finished job gets noticed, but the skill, effort and dedication of those who made it often doesn't.
When you’re a tradie, you don't do what you do for attention. You put in the hard work out in the elements to make a living - to put food on the table for your family. You do it because you take pride in your craft, your skills and doing the job right. But we reckon that sacrifice, hard work and pride deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated, with the wit and style fitting of the lads and ladies that build and maintain our world.
That's why we created Tradecals - to give tradies a way to represent what they do, and share with the world the humour, the culture and the hardiness of those that work in the trades.
